Check out our happenings page to see what is coming up for the fall. Our first meeting for the fall is September 14th. 7 – 9 Looking forward to seeing you all after the summer break! Beauty can be seen in all things, seeing and composing the beauty is what separates the snapshot from the photograph…… Don’t foget Fraser Fest is happening this weekend…there are lots of activities going on in the City….so get out and shoot some of them! Mary Ann Last Sunday marked the beginning of something new — the RCPC Brunch and Photoshoot. There has been a large amount of suggestions, and I’m probably forgetting a bunch, but here goes:
The possibilities seem endless! If anybody has any more suggestions, please either comment on this post, send me email, etc. See you this weekend Harry. Its that time of year when our thoughts turn to planning for next year. Included in those thoughts are the elections of our new executive. When this club was founded it was decided to have 4 elected positions and the rest would be “volunteer positions” or “appointed positions”. This year we are looking to fill the following posts: We are also looking for people to help out with: If you are interested in helping out next year, please let us know or better yet, come forward at the meeting on June 8th and volunteer for one of these positions. By the way, the meeting on the 8th of June will be our last “official” meeting of the year. We may get together on an ad hoc basis over the summer. Mostly we do this to get out in our neighbourhood, take some photos and keep in touch with our fellow photographers. Stay tuned to your email and this blog for updates on summer happenings. Also on the 8th once we have had our elections anyone who wishes to share some of their photographic work is welcome to bring it along. Please bring your work on a thumb drive so we can share with the members. Mostly the last meeting will be a social gathering, so please bring some snacks to share and we can visit for the balance of the meeting. See you all on the 8th! Mary Ann For those of you who saw Monika’s post below, what she is refering to is the APAC seminars. Abbotsford Photo Club hosts an annual seminar in the fall of each year. Included in the seminar is also a photo competition and trade show. On the Saturday portion of the event, are several seminars of which you choose which ones interest you. Included in the cost of the event are snacks at coffee time as well as lunch. Each year a special keynote speaker presents seminars after lunch, in the evening and for a full day on Sunday, if you choose to attend the Sunday portion of the event. This year reknown photographer, Bryan Peterson (google him if you haven’t heard of his work) is the keynote speaker. Registration is available online and be sure to register early to get the courses you are most interested in. Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them. Mary Ann Click here to see the brochure: FYI for anyone interested in the APAC Seminar this year, October 16 and 17. Here is the link to the brochure. http://www.apac.bc.ca/Seminar2010.html |
